PIOPPIPioppi is a small romantic fishing town with a picturesque boardwalk, small cafés and a piazza that is framed with palm trees. Manorial homes and villas impress the atmosphere. You can enjoy the view over the entire Gulf of Velia and the Cap of Palinuro.
Coming from the ocean, you can see from far away already the Palazzo Vinciprova, which dates back to the 17th century. Today it is the home of an ocean museum, conference rooms and an open-air stage. A large part of the residents are traditional fisherman and you will find their catch at the local fish stores.
Here you also find a variety of impressions that already inspired many painters: wooden fishing boat lying on the beach, fishing men that display their fishing nets to dry or to clean or just people sitting in the piazza enjoying the moment.
